Mauritius | Day Six

First hike of the trip!

Started the morning at 7am with some coffee and test flying the drone before our hike. I was hoping to shoot some cool footage of our group on the summit and get some 'b roll’ clips for IG. At 8 we headed out on the 45 min drive to the hike and got right to it once we arrived. The hike was pretty easy at first – through fields and flowers – but quickly progressed to a steep, moderate climb. It took us about an hour-fifteen to reach the summit and then bit less back down. There were beautiful views and flowers + trees all the way along the trail and right before the summit, there was a troop of monkeys! We even got to see some baby monkeys which was quite cute – even if the grown up monkeys were a little aggressive. Anyway, then we summited the mountain and the view through the partially clouds was still pretty good! Could see Port Louis (the big city on the West coast) and a full 360 view. Really glad I went and looking forward to a lot more hiking while here!

Overall today was really good. I’m feeling quite content with things and confident in what I want for once. Just need to figure out how to put the pieces together to get there.
